ART, CULTURE AND REVOLUTION: The Impact of the Times of Turmoil on Human Creativity (inspired by Euro-Maydan in Ukraine)

The event will explore the impact of turbulent times on cultural figures, the role of creative individuals during troubled times and the ways different media react to the same societal phenomena.

The participants in the event – artist Vladyslav Shereshevsky, photographer Volodymyr Kharchenko, and film director Roman Bondarchuk will share their thoughts on the impact of the Maydan events on their creative work and personal development and on the role of an artist during societal change.

Volodymyr Kharchenko
Volodymyr is a photographer, an artist, a writer and a musician.
He is a member of the Ukrainian Artists’ Union. He has participated in over 60 exhibitions in 12 countries and has numerous publications in Ukraine and abroad.

Vladyslav Shereshevsky
Vladyslav is a well-established Ukrainian artist, whose works can be found in Ukraine’s national art museums, Munich’s Municipal Gallery and private collections of the USA, France, Germany, The Netherlands and many other countries.

Dmytro Tiazhlov
Dmytro is a Kyiv-based documentary film director and an instructor at the Kyiv National University of Theatrical art, Cinema and TV. “Love share”, which will be shown at the event, is one of the short documentaries produced by Dmytro Tiazhlov within the framework of the “Ukraine Voices” almanac.
