The annual national festival of Easter eggs, called pysanky, has started at Saint Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv and will continue for 10 days.
The museum territory is decorated with more than 50,000 pysanky made of wood, paper, fabric, glass but the most of them are natural eggs. The festival program includes an exhibition, painting eggs classes for children and adults where masters tell about Ukrainian symbols. There are also some contests choosing the most beautiful eggs.
